Bohlman Family Visit: June 25-28

Tim came up on Wednesday, June 23 to great weather in the 70s. The Gulan family arrived on Friday, and Scott and I hit the late fishing soon after. Scott nailed a 25 inch northern. The others came later that night - Fred and Collette with the boat, Angie, Tyler, and Jennifer, and the Gray family later that night (after a flat tire). Bass fishing was the main lake pursuit, with the Rebel topper popper effective for largemouth action. It was discovered that they were on sale at WalMart for a fine price of $ 1.00 each.

Tubing action was great on Saturday with some amazing wipe-outs. After church on Sunday, many entered the annual Floyd Lake fishing contest, with the girls in Fred's boat, the boys in Tim's boat. Andrew and Tyler caught some northern. Casey did well with the panfish; Jenni boated a 19 inch walleye on a "Zoom" bait from grandpa (another hot bait). Sunday was windy! We took the fish to the weigh-in station down the road, and most came back with some top prize money.

A morning was spent renting a rooter to clean out the kitchen main drain. Scott and Tim spent some time in the crawl dusty crawl space with Fred and Eric feeding the snake. We had success unclogging the pipes (some roots).

More tubing took place on Monday, but the Check-Mate starter went out later in the day (rescued by Fred on the lake - towed back). Hot fishing action continued with heavy bass action on mornings and evenings with Scott taking the lead with bass hits in Mud Lake. Many were in the 16 inch range, but Eric probably had the biggest one on, which jumped and spit the plug. On Tuesday we pull-started the Mercury to continue water skiing and tubing action on a smooth lake. Families left on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The meals were great - fishing fine - tubing exciting, and the fellowship was fantastic! Thanks to all for coming!
